Australia Awards in French Polynesia
Under the Australia-France Roadmap, signed by Foreign Minister Wong and Foreign Minister Colonna in December 2023, the Australian Government is proud to announce the return of the prestigious Australia Awards Scholarships in New Caledonia and French Polynesia.
Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious international awards offered by the Australian Government to the next generation of global leaders. Through study and research, recipients develop the skills and knowledge to drive change and build enduring people-to-people links with Australia.
The Australia Awards Scholarship program is open each year to New Caledonians and French Polynesians to pursue postgraduate study in Australia. The program is also available in Wallis-and-Futuna for undergraduate studies.
Applications for the Australia Awards 2026 intake will open on 31 January 2025 at 12:00 (Papeete time) and close on 29 April 2025 at 23:59 (Papeete time). Please also follow us on Facebook.
Recipients will be required to enter into a contract with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to comply with conditions of the scholarship. This includes returning to their home at the end of the scholarship.

The site, managed by Austrade (the Australian Government’s trade, investment and education promotion agency) has a mobile-friendly design that makes it easy for students to browse courses and institutions on any handheld or desktop device.
Potential students can also interact via social media, access information about scholarships and discover the stories of other students from French Polynesia or elsewhere.
The website includes information about Australia’s states and territories, as well as news and event feeds, in a selection of languages.
Whether you are interested in enrolling in an Australian university or Vocational Education and Training (VET) college, learning English, or attending school, we invite you to visit the website to try out its new features and to learn more about studying in Australia.
